BESSEMER, Ala. — A masked intruder cut through a wall to enter the Bessemer insurance office of Ken McFeeters, a former Republican candidate for Alabama governor, leaving the business ransacked but apparently taking nothing, according to local reporting and police. Authorities said there is no indication so far that the break-in was politically motivated.
McFeeters, who ran for governor in Alabama’s 2026 race, said an employee discovered the damage early Wednesday at PAC Insurance Agency on 19th Street North. Photos and video he shared showed scattered papers, broken disarray and a large hole in the wall where the intruder apparently entered after bypassing a secured rear door.
Bessemer police confirmed they responded to a reported burglary at the business and said investigators had not identified a suspect. Police also said they had found nothing at this point to suggest the incident was tied to McFeeters’ political activity.
The break-in comes as McFeeters has remained a figure in Alabama Republican politics, including a challenge to Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s eligibility to run for governor. That has made the ransacked office an attention-grabbing scene, even as investigators continue to treat the case as a burglary rather than a political attack.
