LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — No. 3 seed UAB women’s soccer plays No. 6 seed Temple at 10 a.m. CT Sunday in the quarterfinals of the American Championship at Premier Sports Campus, on ESPN+.
UAB is 9-8-1 overall and 6-4 in the league, its best conference finish in four seasons. Temple is 11-6-2 and 4-4-2, in its first postseason since 2018.
It is a rematch of the Sept. 17 conference opener in Philadelphia, when Temple beat UAB 2-0 despite the Blazers outshooting the Owls 21-4. Temple’s Sofia Echavarria scored in the 44th minute, and Mariana Pimenta added a goal 20 seconds into the second half.
The winner meets the FAU-Charlotte winner in Semifinal 1 on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. CT. The final is Saturday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. CT. Admission is free.
