PELHAM, Ala. — Guitar Gallery’s Pelham store will close next month after 28 years in business, the company said in a May 12 social media post and in local reporting that cited staff confirmation. The store said it has sold the building and is winding down the location as part of a move toward retirement.
The Pelham shop, at 2621 Pelham Parkway, is listed on the company’s website as the Guitar Gallery’s Pelham location and was still showing regular hours in the site’s location listing as of the most recent version available. The closure affects only the Pelham store; the company’s Tuscaloosa location remains listed on the same site.
The store will close sometime in June, and a May 19 Shelby County Reporter post said the business was preparing to close its doors after nearly three decades serving musicians in the Birmingham area. A store post on Facebook also advertised a closing liquidation sale and said everything in the Pelham location must go.
The company did not provide a closing date in the material reviewed, and no reason beyond the sold building and retirement step was given in the public posts and reports examined.
