Officers responded to the 1200 block of Oak Grove Road after reports of gunfire in the area, which sits just off the busy Lakeshore commercial corridor on Birmingham’s southwest side. Police confirmed a woman was shot, and multiple patrol units were called to the scene as the investigation began.
