BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Music lovers and artists alike will converge on East Village Arts (EVA) this weekend for the East Village Arts Guitar Festival, a two-night celebration of stringed instruments, community, and creativity. Taking place Friday and Saturday, March 14-15, from 7-10 p.m., the festival promises a packed lineup of guitar solos, guest artists, raffles, auctions, and an interactive Round Robin session where musicians can showcase their own gig setups.
The event also marks the Grand Opening of the Alabama Art Casting exhibition, featuring the striking Cast Iron Guitars—massive, metal-crafted instruments that visitors can see and feel. Attendees will have the chance to explore the new Cast Iron Exhibition, highlighting the intersection of music and metalwork, as well as browse a guitar hardware and media sale featuring CDs, LPs, and more.
Doors open at 6 p.m. each night for setup, and the event is BYOB. A $10 donation at the door helps sustain East Village Arts, a vital creative space in Birmingham’s East Lake neighborhood that has long supported local artists and musicians. Snacks and refreshments will be available.
Since its founding, East Village Arts has served as a cooperative and cultural anchor in Birmingham, offering an inclusive venue for artists, musicians, and creatives to collaborate and showcase their work. Housed at 7611 1st Ave N, EVA has hosted a diverse range of events, from live performances to experimental art installations, all with the mission of fostering artistic expression in the community.
This weekend’s festival continues that tradition, blending live music, interactive art, and grassroots support for local creators. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just an appreciator of great guitar work, the East Village Arts Guitar Festival is an event you won’t want to miss.
For those looking to support EVA, donations can be made at the door or online to help ensure this dynamic space remains a cornerstone of Birmingham’s art scene.
