HOMEWOOD, Ala. — A shooting incident on Monday night has left two women seriously injured, challenging the perception of safety in the suburban community of Homewood, located just south of Birmingham. The victims were transported to a local hospital, where they are receiving treatment for serious injuries. Authorities believe an unknown suspect approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
