ACLU once again proves itself Fair and Objective by supporting Right-Wing Nutcase's Free Speech

Immigrant Protests give Racists opportunity to show their True Colors

Hosts on a Birmingham-area radio station that features conservative talk programs discussed the demonstrations almost continuously, with one host referring to Hispanic immigrants as living like "animals" and another saying communists were behind the protests.

In the northwest Alabama town of Russellville - where the Ku Klux Klan plans a rally against illegal immigrants on Saturday - officials said more than 20 percent of the system's 560 Hispanic students were absent. In Shelby County, 30 percent of the more than 1,031 Hispanics enrolled at 11 schools were absent.

Comprehensive Study Proves
Prayer Doesn't Work

OK, at least it proved that Christian prayer doesn't work. We'll have to do another study with Hindus and Moslems to see if they can heal the sick by mumbling with their eyes closed.

It's almost an insult to the achievements of Western civilization that this study was conducted in the first place. $2.5 million dollars were spent on research which could have been conducted for $2.5 hundred dollars. Where the money went will remain a mystery along with why serious consideration was given to such a nutty experiment in the first place. Of course prayer doesn't work. The results were guaranteed before the Templeton Foundation, the study's sponsor, first opened its checkbook.

To their credit the Foundation got the Harvard Medical School to conduct a rigorous double-blind study of 1,800 heart patients at six medical centers and the results were published in the American Heart Journal, a prestigious peer-reviewed publication.

It's hard to imagine a more impartial and legitimate test but it's not going to convince too many of the faithful. Why? Because believing in things that aren't true is not just the cornerstone, but the definition of religion.

More Lies on Talk Radio

One of AM talk radio's weirder arguments against immigration is the threat of al-Qaeda sneaking across our southern border. The idea is that Mexicans and Arabs look just alike.

One of the proponents of this theory is sad, Limbaugh want-to-be Russ Fine. As demonstrated above, Russ is a dead-on identical twin of Osama bin Laden. It's almost uncanny.

Russ has long been a xenophobic muckraker, giving convoluted rationale to his several dozen listeners' fear of people who aren't both white and Baptist. The rage he feels toward undocumented workers is rarely matched among other pundits. Just last week Russ discovered the obviously untrue "fact" that each "illegal" (read nigger) costs the American taxpayer a whopping $55,000 a year. That's $660,000,000,000, more than half of our entire gross domestic product. Holy cow!

$55,000 for each of the 12 million undocumented workers? You'd have to be totally blinded by hate to buy that one. His source seems to be a group disturbingly named The American Resistance. Oddly this source references its source as thc Center for Immigration Studies which puts the cost at $2,736 per household of 2.7. So you actually have an average cost $1,000 per immigrant, not $55,000.

Why right-wing pundits site such easy to research lies only goes to show that they assume their audience is stupid...and too lazy to check their facts.
